TECNO Mobile Ghana launches flagship phone Phantom 6 | 6 Plus
TECNO Phones has launched its latest brand of phones, the TECNO Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 Plus.
The Phantom 6 and 6 Plus boast of a number of high-end upgrades, compared to its predecessor, the Phantom Z and the Phantom 5 that were launched in 2014, and 2015 respectively.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, the General Manager of TECNO Phones, Mr. Daniel Glover stated that the Phantom 6 and 6 Plus are not an exception to the excellence of the TECNO brand.
“The TECNO Phantom 6, one of the duo, comes with amazing upgrades as the slimmest dual rear lens mobile phone and has a Sony 13 MP Camera,” he said.
He announced that the device also has an amazing 6.15mm ultra slim design with premium chamfered edges.
“Spotting the unconventional dual rear 13MP plus 5MP auto-focus cameras with LED flash, the Phantom 6 also stomachs an expanded storage space for better operations,” he said.
Touching on the Phantom 6 Plus, Mr. Glover stated that the phone has a 6.0 inch IPS touch display with TECNO’s first trio-fold security on the phone.
“The device also boasts of the world’s super-fast Mediatek Helio core processor with 4GB RAM and 64Gb ROM, expendable to 256GB,” he said.
Reduction of taxes on imported phones
Reacting to the need to reduce the prices of phones to complement government’s move of making the device available to all Ghanaians, Mr. Glover stated that TECNO has embarked on a massive reduction to meet the target.
The Finance Minister, Seth Terkper announced in this year’s budget that government has reduced tariffs on imported phones from 20 percent to 10 percent as part of measures to meet the ECOWAS Common External Tariff.
